Richard Farrar

Personal training

Richard is a personal trainer, combining his love of health and fitness with helping people.

Embarking on a fitness journey is a personal and sometimes very challenging endeavour. Richard takes pride in offering a caring and empathetic approach that recognises the unique challenges faced by those new to exercise or navigating health concerns, as well as those who are more experienced. His aim is not just to design workout routines but to provide unwavering support and understanding throughout his clients’ entire fitness experience.

Richard is a specialist in cancer exercise rehabilitation working with people before, during and after treatment for cancer. The very same skills of empathy, care, warmth and compassion he uses with his cancer patients are applied to all the other people he works with.  His clients include people who are looking to get fitter, healthier and happier, but are often a bit uncertain as to what the best form of exercise is for them.  Some have health conditions such as hypertension, osteoporosis, diabetes, and anxiety, and Richard uses exercise and health coaching to help them improve their fitness, manage and reduce their symptoms, and improve their quality of life.

Richard is also a part-time lecturer at the University of Suffolk teaching on degree programmes including BSc Nutrition and Human Health and BSc Biomedical Science.  He is a Senior Activity and Health Practitioner member of The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).

On a mission to help people move more, Richard offers a supportive, friendly, holistic and person-centred approach to health and exercise. If you are one of Richard’s clients you can be assured that you will be supported to help you feel better and improve your fitness and wellbeing, whether you are new to exercise or more experienced.
