Richard is a personal trainer, combining his love of health and fitness with helping people. He is a specialist in exercise referral for health conditions such as hypertension, obesity, diabetes and depression, using exercise and health coaching to help manage and reduce symptoms and improve the quality of life of his clients. He is also a cancer exercise rehabilitation specialist working with people living with and beyond cancer. Richard helped establish the “Fit For Life” cancer prehabilitation and rehabilitation programme at Ipswich Hospital, a series of workshops and exercise classes delivered through the John Le Vay Cancer Support and Information Centre to help people prepare for and cope with the physical and psychological demands of cancer treatment and improve their recovery.
Richard is also a part-time lecturer at the University of Suffolk teaching on degree programmes in the Life Sciences including BSc Nutrition and Human Health and BSc Biomedical Science. He is a Senior Activity and Health Practitioner member of The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
